Did you know…Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are exactly the same grape variety, a distant cousin of the pinot noir grape. Historically the French called theirs Pinot Gris, making a rich, luscious style while the Italians prefer to make a crisp, earlier picked, zesty style and choose to call theirs Pinot Grigio.
