Elephant Hill 2009 Syrah is a true Cotes du Rhone in style, displaying true classic Syrah character, where aromas of boysenberry, dark chocolate and anise blend with hints of dark cherry, ensuring a wine of great balance.

Elephant Hill is a stunning and innovative winery estate located on the idyllic Te Awanga coast in Hawke's bay, New Zealand. Hawkes Bay has become known as the 'Bordeaux' and 'Rhone equivalent of New Zealand.

This New Zealand wine won a trophy at the Sydney Intl Wine Comp 2011, a Regional Trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards and a Blue Gold Medallion.

After a long, warm and dry Indian summer the grapes to be picked at the peak of their flavour. Bunches were destemmed and fermented in traditional open-topped cuvès, then pressed to oak barriques and aged for 15 months prior bottling.
