The story of Bunnykins begins in 1934 with a young nun in an English convent school. Sister Mary Barbara (Barbara Vernon) imagined and illustrated the exploits of the Bunnykins family to entertain the children in her class. Her father, Cuthbert Bailey, who happened to be the manager of Royal Doulton's Burslem pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, recognized the potential of combining her drawings with children's plates, bowls and mugs and thus Bunnykins Nurseryware was born! Today this popular collection lives on and is esteemed and admired around the globe.
