The 2009 Deep Woods Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc is from the boutique winery Deep Woods Estate at Margaret River, WA rated 4.5 stars by James Halliday. A delicate blend, it is light, zesty and perfect for every palate.

Awarded a trophy and a gold medal for the Best Sauvignon Blanc in show at the Margaret River Wine Show this wine is a delicate blend of estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc. Various techniques were employed in the production of this wine including barrel fermentation and judicious lees stirring, all of which enhance textural qualities and complexity. Portions fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks bring freshness and drive to the palate. Careful blending of the various components has resulted in a wine where the sum is far greater than the parts. Zesty citrus, passionfruit and herbal aromas are combined with hints of toast and gunflint, resulting in a beautifully flavoured wine.

Tasting Tip: This wine is best enjoyed in its youth for its lively fruit characters as an aperitif or with salads and white meat dishes.
